Morecambe and Heysham Fishermen’s Association (2015)
Awarded funds to purchase personal M.O.B. (man over board) safety devices for fourteen fishermen.
The M.O.B. devices alert search and rescue services once activated, should the wearer become immersed in seawater. The fishermen were also awarded funds to purchase insulated fish boxes to improve their catch quality by keeping fish catches (i.e. salmon) at lower temperatures whilst onboard.
This project was financed by voluntary donations jointly made by the Walney, West of Duddon Sands and Ormonde offshore wind farms.
